The steady rhythm of pounding rice has long been a familiar sound in villages. During festivals, harvest celebrations, and communal gatherings, this rhythmic sound creates a lively atmosphere, symbolizing prosperity, abundance, and social cohesion.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Each ethnic group has its own design and technique. The \u00ca\u0111\u00ea often use smaller mortars placed indoors, reflecting their matrilineal household structure. The M\u2019n\u00f4ng prefer sturdy mortars made from k\u01a1nia wood, paired with long pestles for efficiency. The Ba Na design their mortars with higher rims to prevent grains from scattering. These variations reveal both technical knowledge and environmental adaptation.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For many families, the mortar is also a valued possession, passed down through generations. In traditional belief, it is closely tied to human life.
