More than a carrying tool, it represents a cultural symbol reflecting the close relationship between people and their natural environment.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>A typical basket consists of four main parts: the rim, body, base, and shoulder straps. There are two primary types: plain baskets, made from natural bamboo and rattan, and decorated baskets, featuring dyed strips that form colorful patterns.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Among the \u00ca\u0111\u00ea, the basket (b\u016dng) accompanies individuals throughout life. Children begin using small baskets at an early age when joining their parents in the fields. As adults, they carry larger baskets for transporting crops, firewood, and daily necessities. \u00ca\u0111\u00ea baskets are characterized by wide openings and elevated bases reinforced with wood and rattan. In rituals such as water worship or rice ceremonies, baskets are used to carry offerings; in particular, women perform ritual dances while carrying baskets, creating both sacred and lively scenes. For the M\u2019n\u00f4ng, baskets are cylindrical with low bases and are designed for specific tasks such as carrying firewood, water, or grain. Gia Rai baskets feature square bases and curved rattan rims, ensuring both durability and flexibility.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The basket is present in nearly all aspects of life: carrying harvests, gathering forest products, fetching water, and transporting ritual items. It is also associated with marriage customs, where women carry baskets of firewood as part of the traditional \u201cbride-taking\u201d practice in matrilineal society.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Today, despite modernization, the back basket remains widely used in villages.
